Children

Children are the light of the world, plain and simple. They are some of the best teachers that life has to offer because, despite their lack of experience, they have an insight into the universe that adults seem to have lost somewhere along the way. There is so much wonder, excitement and energy in youth that can be taken as inspiration to those around them. Even if you don't have children of your own, chances are, there are little angels all around you. Have you ever observed a child who has just discovered his ability to do something new on his own? The pride and sense of accomplishment is something that, as adults, we should strive to feel in our small achievements. Have you ever watched a child ponder the world, quietly taking in scenery and surroundings? This is also something that adults rarely take the time to do. This world that we live in is full of wonders, precious gifts and moments that can slip by us in the every day hustle and bustle of life.

If you are lucky enough to have a child in your home - biologically yours or not - take a moment every single day to appreciate them, to tell them you love them and are grateful for them. You are their guides on a portion of their Spiritual Journey that they will either treasure forever as a gift from God or see as an obstacle they've had to overcome. Be your children's bounty, learn from them and share an experience that will one day turn into memories that you can look back on and smile.

Affirmation for today:
I take every opportunity to live life with the excitement and joy of a young child. I am grateful for the youth in my life that teach me how to live a better life.

Prayer for today:
Thank you, Spirit, for all of your little angels that you've blessed my life with. Thank you for the opportunity to watch them grow and in doing so, blossom myself.

Family

Our families are truly our biggest asset in our lives. They are the ones who teach us the most valuable lessons throughout life. Although sometimes these lessons are challenging or difficult, they are essential to our life's path and growth. Granted, our families are the ones who we often take out most of our frustrations on and it is said that in times of stress, we do this because we know that we will be forgiven by the people who love us most. It is good to remember to make every effort possible to maintain a strong relationship during these times as well - by actively not taking things personally, doing our best not to withdraw too much into ourselves and our problems, and by being available to each other during hard times. In doing so, once a stressful circumstance or situation passes, the relationships are stronger thereafter.

Now, it is understood that for some people, family doesn't necessarily mean the people to whom you were born into relationship with - like parents and siblings. Family includes partners, children, and your chosen family. Although maybe not related by blood, these people are vital to our happiness, energy vibration and well being. It is important to surround yourself with people who make you feel good about yourself, who support you, who lift you up and who walk a spiritual path in accordance with your direction. By doing this, your level of serenity, joy and faith is sure to increase.

Affirmation for today:
I surround myself with people who love me and appreciate me. I am constantly walking the path that directs me toward my highest good.

Prayer for today:
Thank you, Spirit, for putting the people in my life that help me to grow, change and become the purposeful being that I was intended to be. Thank you for helping me to make the decision to only maintain and nurture beneficial relationships.

Letting Go

It is easy for us to tell other people to "let it go" or "leave the past behind you" when talking to them about difficulties and strife. What does this really mean for us though? To simply let something go is not enough. You have to forgive yourself or others for any wrong doings, face the fears associated with past failures or regrets, and to accept the fact that it is okay to make mistakes. After doing all of these things, "letting go" no longer becomes an action to be taken, rather it becomes something that naturally happens through acceptance, forgiveness. This occurrence originates from a place of love and there is nothing that comes out of love that is ever wrong. When we make a decision to consciously take our mistakes, decisions, and actions of the past as learning opportunities and to use them for our benefit, we are then - and only then- able to let go.

Remember, everyone on this Earth has things that they've done or have had done to them that they are not proud of or regret. It's what you choose to do with yours that will turn these things into demons that haunt you or tools that help you. Occurrences are not always choices, but the way you let your past affect you is.

Affirmation for today:
I am proud of my accomplishments and grateful for the lessons learned from my past. I take with me to the future all of the tools I need and have earned through trials and tribulations.

Prayer for today:
Thank you, Spirit, for awarding me with the life that I've lived and continue to live. Thank you for guiding me through all of my experiences so that I am better equipped for the journey ahead.
